Marketing Brainstorming

Today I'll think about different ways of marketing this thing. It's probably the hardest thing I've had to do because I have no idea how to start.

Track keywords using F5Bot

One approach is tracking keywords like "competitor alternative" or "simple analytics" and replying to any mentions.

This will be painful and take a long time, but it might get me somewhere.

For now, I'll set up the keywords and start replying to interesting ones.

Reddit Ads

The ad I created ran terribly, but I won't give up yet. The ad I came up is shit and got me 7 clicks in a day. I'll retry with a better one.

Did some digging. Seems like for Reddit, screenshots work better.

This is what I came up with

I'll try and run this and see what happens.

Landing Page

In the replays, I noticed users always switch to the least expensive plan. I should make that the default.

I also probably need better copy.

.NET Article

I had an idea of utilizing my .NET blog which gets a solid amount of traffic by writing an article about Analytics in .NET and softly pitching Barelytics there. I would have to create and publish some packages for .NET to make that work. Wonder if it will work with Blazor? I'll have to test it.

Outreach

It makes me uncomfortable just thinking about this one, but the most effective method would probably be if I started reaching out to people directly.

I'll have to research how to do that. No idea what to write or who to write to. Probably product people?
